A Bit About My Current Role as a Tech Director

I am currently the Director of Technology for my local school district. My job includes Systems Administration, Network Administration, Technology Coordination for Testing, Managing the SSO Platform, Rostering Student Applications, Deploying and Centrally Managing Chrome and iOS devices, Managing Active Directory for Windows accounts, and Managing Google Workspace. On any given day I could be repairing broken screens, replacing RJ-45 connections on our LAN, or improving my skills through Professional Development. Below are some specific projects I completed.

Completed Projects

October 2021 - Present

  • ClassLink SSO: I set up our Single Sign On platform district-wide. This included setting up a nightly data sync with our Student Information System and connecting the SSO platform with each vendor for application rostering. These SFTP processes included REST API and OAuth2.

  • POS Systems: Migrated our Nutrition Services Department to the Mosaic Cloud Computing platform. This involved imaging and installing new hardware, backing up the local server data and transferring it to the cloud, and setting up trainings for managers and staff.

  • Testing Technology Coordinator: Setup technology for our first year of all-online testing for STAAR , DMAC, ACT, EOCs, and Amplify MClass. We use ChromeBooks for STAAR testing, so I had to set up the Cambium Secure Browser in Google Admin and make sure all devices were on the correct Operating System version for compatibility. I used this same process to set up the TestNav kiosk browser for the ACT test.

  • CrisisGo Setup: CrisisGo is a panic alert system that allows teachers and staff to instantly notify local authorities of an incident on campus. The application allows staff to communicate during a crisis.

  • Hardware Management: I enrolled, imaged and deployed over 1200 ChromeBooks, iPads, and Windows machines this year. This included several student labs with Windows Desktops and ChromeBoxes.

  • Audio/Visual: I did several Audio/Visual Projects this year. I installed Pixellot Livestream Cameras at our sporting complexes, managed the installation of new security cameras and servers, installed new VI security camera software, used JVC 4K camcorders to record and livestream the 2022 graduation on YouTube, and setup the audio technology for graduation at our Football Stadium.
